Fool's Paradise took place over the weekend of April 1st and was an amazing inaugural festival in St. Augustine, Florida at The St. Augustine Amphitheater. I found the event to be very successful and am excited to see such a cool event spring up at the St. Augustine Amphitheater. Through someone I had networked with and met at a Papadosio show in St. Petersburg, I was put in contact with Compose Yourself Magazine and was signed up as a contributor to the magazine and was given two press passes for over the weekend. I took photos during the show and had learned a lot about the shooting process while in a festival situation and learned to sit back and wait for the shots to come to me and when I did that, my best shots were produced. The energy is alive at Fool's Paradise and I was doing my best to capture the whole vibe, "The spacious amphitheater quickly filled up and turned into a sea of funk. Lettuce took the stage and the crowd unleashed the anticipation that had been building up for weeks now," Justin Gwinn, Compose Yourself Magazine. Being a photographer, I got to see a unique perspective and took photos amongst the cheering fans, cheersing beer cans, and loud atmosphere. I got to shoot the artists for the first 3 songs and was able to get some good shots because some of them would let me take their photos which helped me set the exposure right with little movement from my subject. The festival was a true success and the artists had a good time jamming and brought everyone an awesome experience!
